This error is also present in Windows 2000 USP5 when applied on top of Windows 2000 RTM. That TommyP, he thought of everything, didn't he? Download my ZIP and extract SETUPAPI.DL_ and put it in i386. You actually do not need to use your own DRIVER.INF, but you DO need information from it.
